Monday Art/Journal Prompt

Geesh, I almost missed getting the Monday Art/Journal Prompt posted for this week. I had a super busy weekend doing the Pueblo Quilt & Stitch Expo. The Expo is primarily geared toward traditional quilters and sewers, so I wasn’t sure what to expect for my mixed media store Blue Twig Studio. But it was a really good FIRST show/event for me and I learned a lot and got some great advice from some of the other vendors and met some great new friends and clients. But I am tired and still have a lot to do this week, so I kind of let the day get by me before I realized I needed to do this blog post. Sigh.

So what should we do in our journals this week? Any suggestions. 🙂 OK, how about writing or arting or journaling about your favorite quote. I have lots of quotes I like, and I really enjoy finding new quotes along the way. But it is fun to use quotes in art journaling. They can set the mood or force you to think about something new or create some interesting contrast.

Here are some quotes to get you started.

The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt. ~Sylvia Plath

Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment. ~Claude Monet

Art is the master and I am its slave! ~Samuel L Jackson

Never say goodbye, because saying goodbye means going away, and going away means forgetting. ~Peter Pan

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. ~Albert Einstein

Saying no can be the ultimate self-care. ~Claudia Black

So, can you use these quotes in your art journal? Or do you have some quotes of your own that you can use? Have fun!

  1. I like a quote from my Kobo e-reader – No pressure, no diamonds. 🙂 I repeat it when life gets too out of hand and especially when under pressure.

  2. I love using quotes in my art journal. And I could use the first one you wrote, although they are all great. I love quotes. 🙂
