Monday Art/Journal Prompt

Another Monday Art/Journal Prompt here. I’m trying to keep these fairly basic and easy to do for all of you beginner art journalers out there. Those of you with more experience can change-up the prompts and add to them to make them more complex and suitable for your needs. The idea is just to jump-start your art journal practice and to give you an idea to work with. You don’t have to do the prompts at all or you can personalize them for your own work. My hope is that you do actually do some type of art journaling on a regular basis.

Since this week is Valentine’s Day I thought we would have a Heart theme. I know that sometimes the heart symbol can be perceived as common or trite, but I believe that it still resonates with lots of people.  So you can interpret the heart theme however you wish. You can do this several ways. You can use the heart motif in your journal, which is super easy to do. And a lot of us really like using hearts in our work, so we probably can do this without much effort. You could also do some journaling about what speaks to your heart, or where your heart is, or how your heart is broken or fragile or beating loudly or …… whatever you are reminded of when you think of your heart. You could also write a quote or song lyric that speaks to your heart.

Have fun with this!
