Monday Challenge – Work in a Journal

This is a super-busy week for a lot of people, with Thanksgiving, and traveling, or family visiting, getting started on Christmas, etc. (You will note that I am posting this on Tuesday instead of Monday, as I was too busy yesterday to get it done!) But this is just the exact time that you need to take an extra few minutes each day for yourself. It helps to calm you and focus you and relax you. You can do this by meditating or exercising or napping or whatever gives you that peace. I would like to recommend using a journal for the same reasons.

So this week’s challenge is to work in a journal. Any kind of journal will do. A small sketchbook that you can drop in your purse, a lined composition book, an artistic journal, etc. There are all kinds of journals available for you to use. You can even make your own journal, like this journal made by my sister.

Journal made by Linda Mangus

Journals are a great place to draw, write, share, etc. It is a way to let out your feelings, address concerns, work through issues and problems, plan the future, etc. You don’t have to share with anyone, unless you want to.

And don’t let the word ‘journal’ scare you. You don’t actually have to write if you don’t want to. You can just color or scribble or doodle or glue things down. Whatever makes sense to you! You will feel better after doing so. Have fun!
