Book Review

Visual Chronicles

Visual Chronicles (The no-fear guide to creating art journals, creative manifestos & altered books) by Linda Woods & Karen Dinino.

This book is fun and easy and inspiring. There is a tone of just chatting over coffee with a friend, so you don’t feel intimidated by the content. There are lots of pictures of journal pages and how to do them. There are step by step photos if you need them, or just take the ideas they suggest and make your own. The pages they suggest are easy to complete, so you don’t feel overwhelmed by complicated processes.

This is a great book for those who are just venturing into the art journal world and don’t know how to start or for those who are looking for a little bit of guidance to keep them going. There are tips on supplies, composition, color, idea building, prompts, etc.

You can make an art journal and you can get started quickly using some of the ideas in this book. I know you will have FUN! Like they say in the book “You Are Art!”. I like that idea.
