Trying to catch up with my daily photos!
Today was a lazy sort of day. Just hung around the resort for most of the day. I did go to the resort spa and get a full mani/pedi done. Thanks to Megan for doing such a great job. I don’t do this very often, but it is oh so very nice when I do.
Look at my pretty toes! The spa was very relaxing with soothing music and lavender oil and a nice glass of wine. Megan also did a paraffin treatment for both my hands and feet, which is so wonderful, I wish I could have it done every day.
Friday we had a full day again. I found a shop that was really fun. I was looking for mixed media stores (which are hard to find) and located a place called Mystic Paper in Mesa. It is a cute shop with a nice mixture of vintage and found objects and new goodies. The shop has all kinds of antiques for displays and lots of samples of fun stuff. I highly recommend you check it out if you are in the greater Phoenix area. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo while I was in the shop, but check out the link for more info.
We then walked around the ASU campus area. Lots of little shops and restaurants and bars and breweries. Found some great old books at a cozy little shop. We also stopped for lunch at Gordon Biersch micro-brewery and sat outside on the balcony where we could watch the people below.
Loved the way the sunlight was lighting up the beer, and the reflection of the gridded table through the glass.
Then we decided to stop back by the Bead Museum that was closed before.
There was a lot of historical data about beads and how they have been made and used through the centuries, with many samples. They also had a visiting exhibit called The Family Jewels, which was about jewelry and fashion (with many beads included) through the decades. I found that exhibit very interesting. There were some fabulous beaded dresses and purses.
Almost forgot to take a photo for Saturday! This is a close-up of one of the art pieces in our room.
This is a view of the whole piece. There was lots of nice artwork around the resort and in our rooms. We decided to head home a day early to beat the weather that was going to be rolling into Colorado.
This is a photo of some peacock feathers that my sister Linda gave to me. I have them in my studio for inspiration. They are so beautiful to look at.
I think it will be difficult to remember to take my photo every day!
